Lukashenka decided to finish off higher education today, writes the Nick and Mike Telegram channel. He had systematically destroyed it before, but today he decided to finish it off.
To his surprise, he discovered that the quality of education was low and students were running away. Really amazing.
It is necessary to create a commission that will conduct a comprehensive audit and make proposals for punishing the perpetrators (mandatory) and solving problems (optional). The example of the medical commission led by Abelskaya showed that such measures are not able to improve the situation. The so-called Minister of Education can prepare for resignation.
You can create at least a hundred commissions, but not one of them will be able to issue the main recommendation: there is no freedom and autonomy in higher education, and junta’s agro-rectors are unable to provide a radically different quality.
Rectors are appointed, not elected. They have a deputy for security to help them eradicate freethinking and dissent.
Students are recruited, not selected (you don't have to be smart). Even if the system failed and a gifted student entered it, then there is every chance to correct the situation at further stages of serfdom: work assignment, working out and payment of financial compensation for free education, if they suddenly decide to leave the slavery system.
Lukashenka threw the country out of the system of international exchange of students and teachers, from the Bologna process. Should we be surprised at the disastrous result? The world is moving forward, and the junta is pulling the country back to the Soviet past, which was good and even wonderful if you do not look around or compare successes with life in North Korea.
The commission can reveal disloyalty and poorly painted walls. It won't notice the main thing. And students will continue to flee, although new measures for “enslavement” are just around the corner.
The junta continues to destroy the country, turning it into a prison.
