The politician intends to appeal the decision.

The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation did not register Boris Nadezhdin as a candidate in the “elections” of the President of the Russian Federation.

Nadezhdin himself announced this.

Earlier it became known that the Central Election Commission invalidated 9,147 signatures in support of the Russian presidential candidate from the “Civil Initiative” Boris Nadezhdin.

In total, 60 thousand signatures were checked. Thus, if we take into account their total number — 104,734 — “defects” amounted to more than 8.7%, with an acceptable 5%.

According to Deputy Chairman of the commission Nikolai Bulaev, 2,875 violations concerned signature collectors. In 1,757 cases, the persons who carried out the collection were not on the corresponding list, in 995 the collectors’ data did not coincide with the notarized ones, and in another 123, a third party performed certification records on behalf of the collector.

858 signatures were declared invalid as a result of a response from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In addition, the CEC stated that they found signatures of 11 deceased people on Nadezhdin’s list.

“I do not agree with the decision of the Central Election Commission. I collected more than 200 thousand signatures throughout Russia. We conducted the collection openly and honestly — the whole world saw the queues at our headquarters and signature collection points.

Running for President in 2024 is the most important political decision of my life. I do not retreat from my intentions. I will appeal the decision of the Central Election Commission to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation,” said Boris Nadezhdin.
