All because of what was inside.
A forgetful resident of Minsk found himself in an unpleasant situation. A 39-year-old man left his wallet in a coffee shop and was subject to criminal charges. Now his case has been sent to court, writes the Minsk-Novosti agency. The city dweller is accused of illegal trafficking of prohibited substances without the purpose of sale.
Before going to the coffee shop, the man went into a forest area that was located not far from the Minsk Ring Road. There, in a hiding place, he took six grams of mephedrone, which he purchased in a drug shop for personal use. Having hidden the package in his wallet, he headed to the shopping center located on Ubarevich Street.
The man went in for coffee and, when leaving, accidentally left his wallet on the counter. The loss was discovered by a security guard and handed over to the policeman on duty so that he could identify the owner. The policeman examined the contents of the wallet — in addition to mephedrone, it also contained hashish.
Having come to his senses, the townsman returned to the coffee shop. He was taken to the examination room. Realizing that the purse with prohibited substances had fallen into the hands of the policeman, the man, grabbing his property from the table, tried to run away, but was detained. Afterwards, a criminal case was opened against him.
“The accused is not officially employed anywhere, and has not previously been brought to criminal responsibility,” Deputy Prosecutor of the Zavodski District Viktoryja Kuntsevich commented on the situation. “He was charged with illegally acquiring, storing and transporting narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances without the purpose of sale, that is, committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code. The article provides for up to five years in prison. The citizen fully admitted his guilt and repented of his crime.
