Not Only Plant With 'Shaheds': Ukraine Hits Important Facility In Tatarstan

Ukrainian drones have attacked an oil refinery in Tatarstan. This is not far from the place where the plant for the assembly of "Shaheds" also came under attack.
This was reported to RBC-Ukraine by a source in the security services.
As the source noted, it was a joint action of the Ukrainian security and defence forces.
Meanwhile, Russian media write that the matter is about the Taneko refinery in Nizhnekamsk. According to preliminary data, the drone hit one of the installations. A fire broke out.
Things To Know About This Refinery
The Taneko oil refinery (Tatarstan Oil Refinery Complex) of Tatneft, located in Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan. It was founded in 2005. It is the first refinery built from scratch in post-Soviet Russia. In 2022, it rose to fifth place in the ranking of the country's largest refineries with a refining capacity of 16.2 million tonnes of oil per year.
We remind you, today, April 2, Ukrainian drones for the first time attacked enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation. Explosions were heard in the Alabuga special economic zone, where industrial and manufacturing enterprises are located more than 1,000 kilometres from the border with Ukraine.
Local authorities in Tatarstan have already confirmed the attack. The head of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, said that the enterprises in the cities of Yelabuga and Nizhnekamsk were attacked by drones.
According to the source in the security services, the target of the attack was in particular the plant assembling "Shaheds". It was an operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
