In addition to military instructors, other security specialists may come to Ukraine.
Western military instructors can come to Ukraine to train the Ukrainian forces under the condition of proper air defence. Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė said at a joint press conference with her Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal.
According to Simonyte, now Lithuanian instructors train the Ukrainian military on the territory of Lithuania itself and other partner countries.
“Could they be trained in Ukraine? It is certainly possible to manage these risks with proper air defence,” the Prime Minister said.
Šimonytė noted that in addition to military instructors, specialists in cybersecurity, demining and border protection can also be sent to Ukraine.
She also expressed the opinion that the statement of French President Emmanuel Macron about sending Western troops to Ukraine was mistaken by many - that he allegedly offered to involve Western armies in hostilities.
“There are different forms of help or ways to get involved. I think what President Macron said, and what is key, is that we should not draw red lines for ourselves when on the other hand we have a person who does not have red lines and who has a nuclear threat and swings it every other day,” the head of the Lithuanian government said.
