16 tanks were destroyed.
On Saturday, April 6, the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade successfully repelled 11 attacks by Russian invaders. During these battles, the Ukrainian defenders destroyed 16 enemy vehicles near Avdiivka.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy continues attmpts to break through the Ukrainian defence, using artillery strikes, unmanned aerial vehicles and combined-arms units.
Despite the tense situation, the paratroopers effectively resist these attacks, giving a worthy rebuff and deterring the invasion.
The enemy's strategy remains the same: a significant number of infantry, assault groups are sent with combat vehicles under the cover of tanks and artillery. Unmanned aerial vehicles of various types are also actively used.
"Only over the past day, the Sicheslav Brigade repelled 11 attacks and enemy assaults, destroyed 16 vehicles, including 10 tanks, 5 infantry fighting vehicles and 1 MT-LB. We are holding on! We are manoeuvring and destroying the Russian invaders," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
They added that over the past few days, there has been perhaps the most massive attempt to break through the defence in a particular area of the front. Using tanks, including the modern T-90 types, and infantry fighting vehicles, the enemy forces tried to carry out an offensive. However, the Ukrainian paratroopers gave a powerful rebuff to the enemy.
Thus, a large offensive turned into an operation to dispose of modern Russian equipment. The battles were heavy, because the enemy had a numerical advantage, but the Ukrainian fighters repelled the attack, burning a significant amount of weapons, including T-90 tanks, worth about $4.5 million.
In particular, on March 29, 36 tanks and 11 infantry fighting vehicles tried to enter the Ukrainian positions. The Sicheslav Brigade destroyed 15 tanks, including one T-90 and 8 infantry fighting vehicles.
On March 30, Russian troops attacked with 4 tanks and two infantry fighting vehicles. Then three tanks were destroyed, as well as both infantry fighting vehicles.
On March 31, 6 Russian tanks and 3 infantry fighting vehicles tried to attack, which as a result turned into scrap metal.
Tanks and infantry fighting vehicles of the enemy were destroyed with the help of anti-tank weapons and fire of armored groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, whose crews went out to shoot direct fire.
“Whoever stands in front of us, whatever tactics they use, we are ready for any scenario. Our warriors are trained, skilled and most importantly, motivated. They know what they are fighting for and will do everything possible and even more to protect our country," the defenders of Ukraine said.
