A UAV over the air harbor was spotted by eyewitnesses and a patrol car crew.

On the evening of October 31, the main airport of the German capital - Berlin-Brandenburg - with an annual passenger traffic of about 34 million people was closed due to the threat of drones, Bloomberg reported.

According to information on the air harbor's website, starting at 21:00 local time, several flights arriving at the air harbor were diverted to other German airports.

In particular, a British Airways plane was diverted to Dresden, and an EasyJet flight from Paris was diverted to Hannover. Delays in departure and landing of flights were also recorded. About an hour and a half later, "Berlin-Brandenburg" resumed flights and said that it would be ready at night to take all the airliners that were forced to land at other airports. As dpa writes, Brandenburg police said that the UAV over the air harbor was spotted by eyewitnesses and the crew of a patrol car, but it was not possible to locate the drone.

Before that, unidentified drones have repeatedly disrupted the operation of German aviation facilities. Only in October, Munich airport - the second largest air hub in the FRG - suspended operations twice due to drones. Plans of nearly 10,000 passengers were affected. There were also disruptions at Frankfurt am Main airport.

A series of aerial incursions suspected of being organized by Russia has been recorded across Europe in recent months. It has already led to temporary closures and widespread schedule disruptions at major airports, including the air havens of Copenhagen and Oslo.
