The U.S. president has again pledged to stop the war.

US President Donald Trump dodged a direct answer to a Ukrainian journalist's question about the promised Patriot systems for Ukraine, but promised to stop the war.

He said this in Washington on Tuesday, September 16, before his visit to the UK, New Voice reports.

The journalist recalled that the American president promised 17 Patriot systems for Ukraine two months ago. In response, Trump asked where she was from, to which the journalist replied that she was from Ukraine.

"Let me say that I love Ukraine. I love the Ukrainian people. I thought I recognized a little Ukrainian accent. But [your] country has serious problems. [The war] should not have happened. But I will stop it. I've already stopped seven wars in the last eight months. I thought this one would be the easiest because I know Putin, but no - because there is a huge hatred between Zelensky and Putin. But we're going to stop it," the White House chief said.

On July 14, Donald Trump announced that the US and NATO had reached an agreement on arms supplies to Ukraine.

Then the American president said that some countries that have Patriot SAMs may soon transfer them to Ukraine. He also revealed that one country may send 17 Patriot to Ukraine, but did not specify which one.

"They will start arriving very soon... One country has 17 Patriot that are being prepared for shipment. They will not need them. We will conclude an agreement on 17, or a large part of those 17... They will go to the war zone, it could happen very soon," the White House chief said.
