He called his actions "revenge."

The suspect in the murder of the former head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy has confessed to journalists about the crime.

While speaking to journalists in the courtroom, the suspect called his actions "personal revenge against the Ukrainian authorities," New Voice writes.

He also denied information that he was blackmailed by Russian special services.

"It's not true. All I want now is to get a verdict as soon as possible. Yes, I admit, I killed him. And I want to ask to be exchanged for prisoners of war, so that I can go and find the body of my son," the suspect confessed.

Answering a question about why he killed exactly Parubiy, the man said that the MP "was close by".

"If I lived in Vinnitsa, then there would be Petya (probably referring to former Ukrainian President Peter Poroshenko - ed.)," the suspect added.
