Political prisoner Alexandr Gerasimenko was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison under the article on the promotion of "extremist" activities in the "case of Belaruskag Gayun," reports "Homelska viasna."

Human rights activists write that after the detention the man was searched and seized equipment. His case was considered by Gomel Regional Court.

It is reported that the resident of Mozyr has two minor daughters. Previously, the man worked at the enterprise "Mozyrsol", was a rowing coach and deputy director of the children's sports school.
