Deputies will vote already in the upcoming plenary session.

The European Parliament has decided to urgently consider an initiative to grant Ukraine a 90bn-euro loan. The deputies will vote on it at the upcoming plenary session.

The press service of the European Parliament reports that.

Today, January 20, the deputies supported by a show of hands the request to quickly consider the EU financial package, which will be financed by joint borrowings and guaranteed by the EU budget.

If it is adopted, the money will be used for military aid, support for Ukraine's state budget and strengthening the country's defense industry, as well as integration into the European defense base.

In addition, MPs are speeding up work on changes to the Ukrainian Fund and the EU Council's decision to apply the enhanced cooperation procedure. It will allow 24 EU countries (without the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia) to provide Ukraine with a loan. The final vote on this issue will take place on Wednesday, January 21.

The next step will be to agree on the loan between the European Parliament and the EU Council through the normal legislative procedure.
