The U.S. president said he was not doing it for the Nobel Peace Prize.
US President Donald Trump has explained why he cannot end the war in Ukraine. According to him, when one side is ready to finish, the other, on the contrary, is not ready.
The White House reports.
In a speech at the White House, Trump once again said that he has already finished eight wars, adding that no president has settled even one war.
"I don't know, think about it. I've (finished - ed.) eight. I do it because it comes easy to me. And I didn't do it for the Nobel Prize. I did it because I'm saving a lot of lives," the US president said.
He added that he was trying to end the latest conflict, referring to the Russian-Ukrainian war. In his speech, Trump explained why he has been unable to do so so far.
"I'm trying to resolve the last conflict. I'm trying to resolve the issue of Russia and Ukraine. And when Russia is ready - Ukraine is not ready. When Ukraine is ready - Russia is not ready. But on average they are losing 25,000 people a month. And I'm trying to see it through," Trump summarized.
