He commanded the 98th Airborne Division of the occupiers.

A car carrying Russian General Ruslan Yevdokimov, commander of the 98th Airborne Division of the occupation army of the Russian Federation, was blown up in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region of Ukraine.

The incident occurred last week near the village of Kostogryzovo.

It was written by Ukrainian political and military observer Alexandr Kovalenko.

He said the car in which the general was traveling hit an improvised explosive device or mine. Yevdokimov survived, but, according to preliminary information, was wounded in the lower extremities.

"In general, the 98th VDD temporarily found itself without a brave commander. And the commander, most likely, was left without lower limbs," the columnist writes.

Kovalenko also draws attention to the fact that it is unlikely that General Yevdokimov was driving along the line of battle when he ran into the mine, so the explosion of his car raises more questions than answers.

The columnist reminds that before the invasion of Ukraine, the aforementioned general was known for leading massacres in Syria.

Not long ago, Yevdokimov and the units of the 98th VDD he led were urgently transferred from the Kherson region to the Zaporizhzhya region due to the exhaustion of the occupants' 104th VDD, which had suffered heavy losses.
