Kupyansk in Kharkiv region has been completely liberated. Now there are only a few small pockets with surrounded Russian occupants. This was told by the chairman of the Council of Reservists of the AFU Ground Forces Ivan Tymochko on the air of "Ukrainian Radio".

"Why are there single pockets of occupants so far? Because they need to be destroyed with minimal losses of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The process of destruction is gradual. It is always better to exhaust the enemy to such a level that he loses the ability to resist. And then to carry out its total destruction, but it always takes time," the expert shared.

Timochko emphasized that the Russians have not achieved the results they had hoped for. According to him, the defenders are now keeping the occupants in a blockade, not giving them the opportunity to get out of the encirclement.

Timochko also specified that there are only two or three small pockets where the enemy is surrounded. He stressed that the Defense Forces are in control of the city and its surroundings, and the path along which the enemy was advancing.
