Russia's Belgorod, Taganrog And Perm Plunged Into Darkness

The wave of blackouts has reached the Moscow region.

Late in the evening, January 24, and on the night of the 25th - the Russian cities of Belgorod, Taganrog and Perm faced blackouts. At least one city was left without light due to an alleged attack on a thermal power plant.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Russian Telegram channels.

Belgorod

According to information in the publicks, Belgorod was attacked by unknown missiles after 21:00. The strikes allegedly hit the local thermal power plant. After that, the city experienced light outages.

A little later, the attack was confirmed by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov, claiming that it was allegedly fired from MLRS HIMARS.

"There is damage to energy facilities. We are now collecting information. Duty brigades and operational services have gone to the sites," he added.

Simultaneously, local channels wrote that heating was lost in some parts of the city. Interruptions also occurred in Stroitel, as "Pepel Belgorod" wrote.

Taganrog and Perm

In the evening of the same day, a number of publicks reported that there was a threat of unknown drones in Taganrog, Rostov region.

Already on the night of January 25, footage appeared online showing a fire, explosions were heard, and then the houses lost light. One of the eyewitnesses believes that they are being "bombed". At the same time, the channels write that a transformer broke down in the city.

The Zakamsk district in Perm plunged into blackout the same evening. What caused it is unknown. However, publics note that the Perm Gunpowder Factory is located in this neighborhood.

Other cities

In the evening of January 24, Telegram channels reported that Zaraisk in the Moscow region was also partially immersed in a blackout. Judging by the response of one of Mosenergo's officials, there was an accident on the grid.

Additionally, according to monitoring channels, explosions were heard in the city of Orel and in the Bryansk region.
