The allegations against the general were revealed at a briefing for the army's most senior officers. There are also allegations against Zhang of accepting bribes, including for promoting an officer to defense secretary and for promoting him to positions in the military procurement system, WSJ sources said. In addition, abuse of power and "forming political cliques" are among the charges.
