Mikhail Rogoz , a veteran of the Ukrainian-Russian war , claims that a sharp shift occurred during the Ukrainian delegation’s recent October talks in the U.S. Following this, further dialogue between Kyiv and Washington was effectively put on hold, writes “Dialog”.

According to the publication, this happened when the Ukrainian side learned about the partial lifting of sanctions against Russia and Washington’s demands to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries. As the author of the article writes, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kirill Budanov reacted extremely harshly to this news.

After the meeting had ended, as the participants were heading toward the exit, Budanov allegedly told his American colleagues in a harsh tone that Ukraine intends to destroy Russian oil refineries and ports. The author also claims that the Ukrainian representative’s words stunned the American delegation so much that they were unable to respond.

At the same time, Rogoz describes this episode as a direct signal to Washington that Kyiv has no intention of asking for permission to defend itself against Russian aggression.
