Statements were issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense and Peskov.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced an “energy truce” between Ukraine and Russia, but Moscow has yet to receive any specific details on the matter.
This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, according to RBC-Ukraine.
On the morning of October 14, the Russian Ministry of Defense officially acknowledged that the aggressor country continues to launch strikes against Ukraine amid talks of an “energy truce.”
The enemy’s defense ministry stated that last night, the Russian Federation’s army carried out new strikes on communications and energy facilities in Kyiv, as well as in the Kyiv and Kharkiv regions.
Furthermore, the Russian Ministry of Defense added that this time they used “high-precision ground-based weapons” and “long-range strike drones.”
Against the backdrop of recent events, Russian propagandists decided to ask Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov why this is happening and whether it means that Moscow is dissatisfied with Trump’s decision.
The Kremlin spokesperson began by asserting that the energy truce proposed by Trump had not been specified in detail; therefore, he said, one cannot claim that Russia is not complying with it.
“Work in this direction is continuing,” Peskov added.
“Energy Truce” Between Russia and Ukraine
On October 11, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that an “energy truce” had begun between Ukraine and Russia, which both sides had allegedly agreed to.
In addition, he publicly called on Kyiv and Moscow not to violate it.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy immediately responded to this statement by the White House chief. He admitted that this was the first time he had heard of such an “agreement.”
Despite this, the Ukrainian leader emphasized that Kyiv is ready to cease fire if Moscow does the same.
