Trump Ignores Russia's Attacks On U.S. Businesses In Ukraine

Russian strikes damaged facilities belonging to Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, McDonald's, and Oreo.

U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration have remained silent about Russia’s shelling of American facilities in Ukraine. At the same time, they are demanding that Ukraine stop striking Russian oil refineries, because this harms U.S. consumers.

This was reported by CNN.

Over the past few months, Russia has intensified its attacks on facilities linked to U.S. corporations and on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine as a whole.

According to Andy Gunder, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, Russian missiles and drones have damaged, among other facilities:

Coca-Cola,
PepsiCo,
McDonald’s,
Oreo.

“These are direct hits by drones and missiles, and they continue to strike them. This makes it clear that they are targeting American businesses. We haven’t seen any reaction from the White House,” he said.

According to Gunder, such actions must stop because “it is American interests, American money, and American investors that are taking the hits and being targeted.”

In early September, a Russian “Shahed” drone struck a Coca-Cola plant near Kyiv. At the time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called it a “clear signal” to the U.S.

On September 25, the Russians used a drone to destroy a warehouse used by McDonald’s. “McDonald’s Ukraine” stated that, as a result of the damage, its restaurants are offering a limited menu.

In a statement in late August, PepsiCo acknowledged damage to a production facility in the Mykolaiv region, but said there were no casualties.

“Some companies really want us to raise this issue,” says Gunder, but others “are proceeding very cautiously.”

Several U.S. lawmakers from the Democratic Party have publicly called on the White House to do more to protect American businesses in Ukraine and to condemn Moscow’s actions.

Ukraine has cited these attacks as yet another reason to increase defense support. This is necessary to adequately protect American companies on the ground, CNN reports.

The publication notes that the Trump administration has repeatedly demanded that Ukraine stop striking Russian energy infrastructure.

In February, they warned Kyiv that its strikes on a Russian oil facility in the Black Sea in late 2025 had affected U.S. investments in Kazakhstan.

In recent weeks, Trump has blamed Ukraine’s strikes on Russian diesel facilities for the rise in fuel prices caused by the war between the U.S. and Iran.

Last Friday, he announced an agreement to lift sanctions and purchase diesel fuel from Russia, which violates U.S. law.

The U.S. has also threatened to restrict the sharing of intelligence and ammunition with Ukraine if Kyiv does not stop these strikes, CNN sources reported.

Gunder told CNN that he finds it difficult to understand the administration’s relative silence on this issue.

“Every company, every business wants some kind of protection. You expect your government to have your back and to fight alongside you, especially if it’s foreign military forces attacking American companies,” he said.

Gunder said that the American Chamber of Commerce sent a message last month requesting a meeting with Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner. They want to brief them on the state of American business in Ukraine.

“We haven’t received any response on this matter,” he said.
