Andrzej Pochoebut Plans To Visit Belarus Again

A Polish journalist and activist announced his intention to return to Belarus in December. He made this announcement during a meeting with students at the University of Łódź, where he spoke about repression, state propaganda, and the Belarusian authorities’ manipulation of history, according to the Belarusian service of "Polish Radio".

According to the activist, since 2020, the scope of activities for the Union of Poles in Belarus has been significantly reduced. However, he hopes that the policies of Western countries will help expand the scope of activities for the Polish minority in Belarus.

In 2023, Pochobut was sentenced to eight years in a maximum-security prison. He was released in April of this year after spending 1,860 days behind bars.

In September, Pochobut traveled to Belarus for a week and returned to Poland.
