Russian Drones Have Once Again Flown Into Belarus

  • 15.10.2026, 18:15

Explosions can be heard constantly in the Gomel region.

Flagshtok has reported new instances of Russian attack drones violating Belarusian airspace. Following incursions that occurred on October 9–12, on the evening of October 13, one jet-powered drone followed a typical route through the Bragin District. Then another one followed a similar trajectory on the night of October 15, reports “Flagstok”.

This latest incident was atypical. At 4:07 a.m., the Ukrainian Telegram channel “Rynda Monitors” reported that a jet-powered UAV flew directly from the Bryansk region into Belarusian territory, passed by the southern outskirts of Gomel, and continued toward the village of Rudnya Marimonova. What happened to the drone afterward is not specified.

About half an hour later, a new jet-powered UAV followed a classic route: it flew through Lyubech into the Gomel region and soon returned to Ukraine, heading toward Pripyat.

On the afternoon of October 15, at 4:09 p.m., a single attack drone from Belarus was moving along the border of the Zhytomyr region.

In total, at least 5 drones entered the Gomel region between October 13 and 15.

Meanwhile, Russian drones continue to move constantly along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border on a daily basis, using it as cover and likely “hitching a ride” on signals from Belarusian cellular operator stations.

For example, on October 14, the Ukrainian Air Force reported four separate instances of groups of jet-powered UAVs and individual drones flying in the northern part of the Chernihiv region along the border with Belarus. Flying past the Dobrush, Gomel, Loev, and Bragin districts, the drones then head either toward the Kyiv or Zhytomyr regions.

On the afternoon of October 15, a group of jet-powered UAVs again followed this route four times. The last time was around 3:47 p.m., heading toward the Kyiv region.

Residents of the Gomel border region regularly hear the sounds of explosions. It is likely that the Ukrainian military manages to shoot down some of the drones in this area, and the sounds of explosions are coming from neighboring territory. Sometimes these sounds are very loud.

“Throughout the day, we constantly hear something ‘booming,’ and several times over the past few days, the explosions were so loud that not only the windows but also the walls shook violently,” says a resident of one of the border towns.

It’s possible that the drones are being shot down very close by or that they’re diving into Belarusian territory.
