The conversation lasted about 30 minutes.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held his first official meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar.

This “European Truth” learned this from several informed sources.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the EU summit in Brussels and was held one-on-one.

According to one of the sources, the conversation lasted about 30 minutes—which significantly exceeded Hungary’s stated plans. The Hungarian side had publicly predicted that the discussion would last 10–15 minutes. However, the Ukrainian side had anticipated precisely this duration, which is exactly what occurred.

It is noteworthy that, at the request of the Hungarian side, neither the Ukrainian nor the Hungarian press was allowed to attend even the ceremonial part of the meeting, according to several independent sources. It was also the Hungarian side that insisted the meeting take place entirely one-on-one, without aides or delegation members, which is quite atypical for talks between leaders.

The meeting in Brussels took place after several months of negotiations regarding the time and location. Kyiv viewed this meeting as an opportunity to turn the recent diplomatic thaw into concrete progress in relations between the two countries.
