Peter Magyar cited excerpts from the country's legislation.

Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar warned his predecessor Viktor Orbán that planning an armed coup would result in criminal punishment. The head of government wrote about this on Facebook

“Today, Viktor Orbán, laughing, spoke at the DPK’s paid rally about an armed rebellion and a violent change to the constitutional order. This is one of the most serious crimes against the state,” Magyar stated.

The Hungarian prime minister cited excerpts from the country’s legislation. According to Part 1 of Article 254 of the Hungarian Criminal Code, a person who commits an act directly aimed at altering the country’s constitutional order through the use of force or the threat of its use shall be punished by imprisonment for a term of five to twenty years or life imprisonment. The second part of the same article concerns preparations for a violent change to the constitutional order, which is punishable by imprisonment for a term of one to five years, Magyar noted.
