Polish Border Guards Seized A Large Shipment Of Contraband Cigarettes

She was transported from Belarus on three weather balloons.

Cigarettes smuggled in three connected weather balloons were was stopped by officers from the Nadbużański Division of the Polish Border Guard in cooperation with police.

It is reported that the weather balloons were carrying 15,000 packs of cigarettes without Polish excise stamps. The value of the shipment exceeds 300,000 zlotys (about $82,000).

The illegal goods were presumably smuggled from Belarus. An investigation is underway under the supervision of the district prosecutor’s office in Biała Podlaska.
