The European Commission is actively working on a new, 22nd package of EU sanctions against Russia, but it is not yet known when it will be presented. In response to a question from a correspondent for “European Truth” in Brussels, the European Commission’s press secretaries stated.

“We are actively working on the next package of sanctions against Russia. Therefore, the question is when this will happen, not whether it will happen at all,” said European Commission Chief Spokesperson Paula Pigno.

However, she did not specify when exactly the new sanctions package might be announced.

“As you know, we are always looking for ways to close loopholes in future sanctions packages, as well as ways to counter the circumvention of sanctions. The work of investigative journalists is also extremely important to us, as it helps us identify some of the areas where we may need to impose sanctions,” said European Commission spokesperson Shivon McGarry.

She also added that she had no information on when the European Commission would make a decision on the 22nd sanctions package.
