Another suspected drone was reported to have crashed in Romania during Russia’s nighttime attack on Ukraine on October 2. A fire broke out at the site.

This was reported by “RBC-Ukraine”, citing the press service of the Romanian Ministry of Defense.

According to the ministry, the Romanian radar surveillance system detected new drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania, in the northern part of Tulcea County.

At approximately 5:00 a.m., a report was received that an object—likely a drone—had crashed near the village of Plaura in Tulcea County, after which a fire broke out.

It is noted that there were no casualties or property damage.

A fire truck and crews from the Ministry of National Defense were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire. The area has been cordoned off, and specialized teams from the Ministry of National Defense will conduct an investigation at the scene.

“We would like to note that the Ministry of National Defense’s radar systems did not detect any unauthorized intrusions into the country’s airspace last night,” the Ministry of National Defense added.

As a reminder, on September 29 in eastern Romania the wreckage of an unknown object, resembling a drone, was discovered. A fire broke out at the site. The fire subsequently extinguished itself. There were no injuries, and no property damage was reported.
