ZoV products are marketed in Russia as “battle-tested.”
The Polotsk-based LLC “POLSPO” manufactures modular body armor under the brand name ZoV. On a Russian website that sells this brand’s products, the set is advertised as “battle-tested” and references a review from the drone unit of an assault brigade, writes "Belsat".
Users on Threads drew attention to the body armor. These are indeed listed in the catalog on the official website of “POLSPO”:
“The ‘ZoV’ modular body armor is designed to protect a person from the effects of small-arms fire and shrapnel, as well as to reduce local contusion injuries behind the armor.”
It is noted that its ceramic panels provide Class Br5 protection for vital organs.
The manufacturer does not explain the meaning of the name “ZoV.” However, the combination of the capital letters Z and V is widely used as a symbol of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
In Russia, the kit is sold by the website polspo-russia.ru—with contact information in St. Petersburg and a manufacturing address in Polotsk. Legally, it is registered to a Russian sole proprietor.
The ZoV modular body armor, as noted on the Russian website, consists of a body armor vest, armor plates (Br5 from “POLSPO”), a protective belt, groin protection, and a set of pouches.
The seller emphasizes that the kit has been “tested in combat conditions” and cites an “official review from a UAV unit of the reconnaissance and assault brigade.” According to the seller, after prolonged use in harsh field conditions, the soldiers recognized the body armor as one of the best in its class.
It also states that the set is certified under Russian GOST 34286-2017, and that “production is certified under TU BY 391615915.016-2022.” The technical specifications number indicates that they were registered in 2022.
The vest costs 115,000 Russian rubles (about $1,400).
The Polotsk-based company’s cooperation with Russia is no secret. Back in October 2022, the regional newspaper *Polotsk Vestnik* reported that nearly half of *POLSPO*’s products are used in Belarus and Russia, and that ballistic tests are conducted at a Russian certification center. According to the newspaper, body armor from Polotsk is used by the Belarusian Internal Troops, the army, the Investigative Committee, the Presidential Security Service, and the KGB.
At the factory itself, the ZoV body armor is considered their pride and joy. As a POLSPO employee, Alexander Skorodennok, told the publication “SB. Belarus Today” in 2024, a “POLSPO” employee Alexander Skorodennok, this body armor has the highest protection class—“something new for Belarus, something we’ve been waiting for a long time.” Its advantage is its modularity: the set can be supplemented with groin protection, a collar, and shoulder pads; the armor panels are “easy to remove and replace right on the battlefield,” and the vest itself can be taken off with a single hand movement.
