Security At Military Air Bases In Belarus Is Being Stepped Up

There are signs that point to this.
The Air Force and Air Defense Forces Command is purchasing equipment to secure three military aviation facilities. The contract is worth more than 1.8 million rubles. All the equipment will be paid for out of the state budget. This was "Zerkalo" revealed based on government procurement data.
The military is purchasing thermal imaging cameras and intruder detection sensors. This is evident from data published on the government procurement website.
A total of two lots have been posted. The first is for 200 thermal imaging IP cameras. Of these, 70 each will be sent to the Air Force’s 61st Fighter Air Base in Baranovichi and the 116th Guards Assault Air Base in Lida. Another 60 will go to the military airfield in Machulishchy.
The supplier will be the company “Datasstream DEP,” which is ready to provide surveillance cameras for the automatic detection of intrusions into secured areas for 794,000 rubles. That works out to 3,970 rubles per unit.
According to the description, the contract calls for the delivery of DHI-TPC-BF5641-V1 cameras or their equivalents. They must automatically detect intruders in the secured area, even if they are crawling.
For these same facilities, 130 “Liana” vibration detectors (Ethernet version) or their equivalents are being purchased. These are perimeter security devices designed to detect attempts to scale or damage the fence. “Atomium Security” will supply these to the military facilities for just over 1 million rubles. That works out to 7,752 rubles per unit. In this case, 50 systems will be delivered to each of Baranovichi and Lida, and 30 to Machulishchi.
As a reminder, on February 26, 2023, Russia’s most expensive aircraft—the A-50 AWACS—was damaged in a drone attack at the Machulishchy airbase. During the aggression against Ukraine, the Russian military used it as a “flying radar.”
In September of that same year, the Belarusian government banned the public from importing and using drones.
