Russian Occupiers In Luhansk Were Met With An "Armageddon"

  • 23.10.2026, 8:31

Explosions continue to rock the city, and power and communication outages have begun.

On the night of Friday, October 23, the temporarily occupied city of Luhansk came under a massive attack by strike drones. Following the explosions, the city experienced power outages and communication disruptions. This was reported by the monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+, which published video footage from the scene.

The first reports of explosions in occupied Luhansk emerged around 3:00 a.m. on October 23. Exilenova+ published video footage which, according to the channel, captures the moment of one of the strikes. The TV tower was likely hit.

Subsequently, a monitoring outlet reported issues with communications and power supply in the city. Information also emerged regarding the operation of Russian air defense systems.

One of the Telegram monitoring channels linked to the occupying forces also reported explosions and possible ground-level damage. According to the channel, local residents reported fires and communication outages in some areas.

“We expect official information about the incident later,” the authors of the post noted.

Which facilities may have been targeted

According to preliminary assumptions, the strike may have targeted communications facilities in occupied Luhansk. However, at this time, there is insufficient evidence to confirm that the attack specifically targeted telecommunications infrastructure.

There is also no confirmed information yet regarding the type of drones that may have been used during the attack, the number of hits, or possible casualties.

The published reports contain no information about fatalities or injuries resulting from this attack. Nor do they specify in which areas of Luhansk service disruptions occurred or how long they will last.

There have already been reports of strikes on communications facilities in Luhansk

Incidentally, this is not the first report of an attack on telecommunications infrastructure in occupied Luhansk in recent days. For example, on the night of October 21, drones attacked the building of the former “Ukrtelecom”, where, according to media reports, the occupying operator “Lugacom” and other entities related to communications and telecommunications services were located. Later, the Exilenova+ channel published photos showing the aftermath of the attack. The photos revealed significant damage to the building’s interior.

“Lugacom” provides mobile communications, Internet access, and data transmission services in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region.
