The Ukrainian Armed Forces Have Achieved A Major Victory On The Zaporizhzhia Front

The Russian offensive has been virtually halted.

A new update to the map of airstrikes in the Hulyaypole and Orekhov directions indicates that Russia has abandoned its plans to capture Ternovate and has shifted its focus entirely to advancing westward. This is reported in a blog post reputable OSINT analyst Clément Molin writes in his blog.

— Every month this year, Russia has dropped hundreds of KABs (FAB aerial bombs equipped with universal planning and correction modules—UPCM) on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the Huliaipole sector. The targets were Ukrainian positions in forest belts and populated areas.

I noticed that with each passing month, the impact sites of the aerial bombs shifted further and further west. It seemed as though Russia was methodically destroying all known fixed positions, advancing from east to west. At the same time, very few new strikes were being carried out on areas that had already been bombed. This likely allows Russian sabotage and assault teams to infiltrate Ukrainian positions.

However, strikes are now being carried out 10–15 km east of the front line, which has remained virtually unchanged and still runs along the first settlements west of Huliaipole. The direction of the strikes and their monthly distribution help shed light on what Russia’s plan was—and continues to be—in this sector of the front.

It appears that Russia has abandoned its attempts to capture Ternovate. This is a major victory for Ukraine, as this settlement serves as an important defensive line, hindering the advance of Russian troops on the northern flank of the offensive. In addition, the settlement has several multi-story buildings that Ukrainian forces can use for cover.

Advancing north now appears extremely difficult due to the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the Oleksandrivka direction. As a result, Russian troops are forced to fight in low-lying areas without controlling the high ground.

The main offensive continues to be launched from Huliaipole toward Zaporizhzhia, bypassing Orekhov. Russian forces are currently dropping aerial bombs in the area of the second line of defense, which is still under construction, even though they have not yet managed to breach the first line of defense.

Ukraine has managed to virtually halt the Russian offensive on Zaporizhzhia.
