The airfield and the steel mill are on fire.

In Lipetsk, Russia, powerful explosions rocked the city on the night of October 28 amid a missile alert, and Russian air defenses engaged aerial targets.

Monitoring channels and Ukrainian agents on the ground report the arrival of “Flamingo” cruise missiles, as well as fires in the area of the local airfield and the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant (NLMK).

This is reported by Dialog.UA reports, citing the monitoring channel Exilenova+ and the partisan organization “Atesh.”

Starting on the evening of October 27, local residents reported loud noises in the sky. Prior to this, a missile alert had been issued in the Lipetsk region. Russian sources speculated that “Flamingo” missiles might have flown over the region.

Footage of the Russian “Pantsir” air defense system in action also appeared online. According to “monitors,” Russia’s air defense system performed poorly, and there have been missile strikes and fires in the city.

One of the fire sites is located near the local airfield. Another fire has been reported in the area of NLMK—the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Combine, which supplies, among others, the Russian defense industry. The fire there may have been caused by a missile strike or a failure of the Russian air defense system.
