Authorities demanded that one of his songs be reviewed for "discrediting the army."
Z-activists from the “Sorok Sorokov” movement have appealed to the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office, demanding an investigation into the track by Belarusian artist Max Korzh “With Us or Not” for content that may discredit the Russian army, according to the Telegram channel “Caution: News”.
The authors of the complaint drew the supervisory body’s attention to the lines: “‘We don’t need a war, we don’t need it’ and ‘Just a little more, and you might snap and go off to fight—hold back, brother.’
“We found out that Max Korzh is against the special military operation. Those who are fighting openly call him a traitor who ‘spits in our faces,’”—the Telegram channel “Caution: News” quotes Z-activists as saying.
The single “With Us or Not” was released in May 2026. The track touches on themes of friendship, escaping the daily grind, and information overload. In it, the musician engages in a dialogue with his friend, addressing him with the words:
“There’s so much space all around—go wherever you want, roll the dice
There’s enough land here for everyone
And we don’t need war—we don’t need it.”
As a reminder, in early summer 2022, Korzh released the track “My Home,” which is considered anti-war: at the very least, following its premiere, the Belarusian artist’s tour of Russia was canceled.
On September 2, 2023, Korzh gave his first concert in Riga in several years, during which he urged the audience to chant “No to war.”
On February 23, 2024, the day before the second anniversary of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the track “Cold Morning” appeared on Max Korzh’s YouTube channel. The song includes these lines:
“I see a sea of graves,
The boys are leaving, no longer breathing,
Marching in formation toward the heavens.
There are no nations there, and they won’t ask for passports.
How can I stop this, now that the hungry goddess of war has been awakened?”
