This concept is based on the 20-40-40 model.

The British newspaper The Telegraph published details the Ukrainian “Vivaldi” operation, during which the 3rd Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine employed new tactics.

This refers to the unexpected return of tanks to the battlefield after several months of their virtual absence. However, the appearance of tanks does not signal a return to large-scale mechanized offensives.

As noted by military expert Sam Cranny-Evans, these are small-scale raids involving small groups of vehicles. In the case described, only two tanks were used simultaneously.
According to British experts, Operation “Vivaldi” demonstrates what a new model for the use of armored vehicles in modern warfare might look like.

Tanks are still used, but they operate in conjunction with a large number of drones and other new weapons systems. This concept is based on the 20-40-40 model. According to this model, manned vehicles, including tanks, should account for about 20% of the army’s combat capability. Another 40% is accounted for by reusable unmanned systems, and the remaining 40% by disposable systems, primarily kamikaze drones.
