The media has learned when the Pentagon plans to strike Iran.

The White House plans to resume strikes against Iran after the U.S. midterm elections, which will take place next week. At this time, U.S. fighter jets are already taking up positions. The plan is to use the most powerful non-nuclear aerial bomb in the U.S. military’s arsenal, the GBU-43/B MOAB, known as “Mother of All Bombs”.

This was reported by Newsmax journalist Carla Babb on her page at X page, citing current and former U.S. officials.

“Current and former officials say the administration plans to launch a strike against Iran after next week’s U.S. election. Aircraft are taking up positions. The MOAB is expected to be used,” the reporter states.

Note that the GBU-43/B MOAB is a heavy, GPS-guided high-explosive aerial bomb. Key specifications: Total weight: 9,500 kg (weight of H-6 explosive: 8,480 kg). Explosive yield: approximately 11 metric tons of TNT (46 GJ). Length and diameter: 9,170 mm and 1,029 mm. Carrier: MC-130 aircraft.

To date, there has been only one known instance of this aerial bomb being used in combat. This occurred on April 13, 2017, in the Achin district of Nangarhar Province in eastern Afghanistan, when a GBU-43/B MOAB was dropped on a multi-level tunnel complex belonging to the terrorist group ISIS. According to official U.S. data and local estimates, the explosion killed approximately 36–94 militants.
