The Latest Russian Su-57 Burned Down At The Akhtubinsk Airfield

OSINT researchers reported the loss of the fighter jet.

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, a fire broke out at the Akhtubinsk airfield in Russia, completely destroying a fifth-generation Su-57 multi-role fighter jet. The fire broke out during engine start-up due to an abnormal situation.

This was reported by the OSINT project “Absolutely Reliable Source”.

If the information is confirmed, this will mark Russia’s fourth loss of a Su-57 in 2026. In the spring, two such aircraft were hit at the Shagol airfield, and another fighter was shot down on July 23 in the Moscow Region by “friendly” fire from Russian air defense forces.

Osint analysts also point to the production rate of these aircraft. According to their estimates, the Russian Federation produces no more than four Su-57s per year, so the reported losses for 2026 may correspond to the annual production volume.

However, information regarding the fire at the Akhtubinsk airfield and the destruction of the aircraft has not been confirmed by official sources.
