A humanitarian operation is currently underway.

A humanitarian operation is currently underway in Oleshky: transportation has been arranged for residents wishing to leave for territory controlled by Ukraine, and aid has been delivered to the city. The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kirill Budanov published footage from the scene and emphasized that the operation must continue.

Transportation for those wishing to leave for territory controlled by Ukraine is already ready, and humanitarian aid has been delivered to the city—this is what the humanitarian operation in Oleshky, which is currently underway, looks like.

On the Ukrainian side, the operation is being coordinated by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, with whom Budanov, according to him, is in constant contact.

“This is an important operation, and it must continue. Every citizen’s life is important to Ukraine,” he noted.

Oleshky is located on the opposite bank of the Dnieper River from Kherson. Until 2022, about 24,000 people lived there, but Russia captured the city at the start of its full-scale invasion, and over the years of occupation and hostilities, the population has dwindled to about 2,000—mostly elderly people.
