In addition to the power, mobile internet service was also cut off.

Around midnight on October 30, the power went out in Kaliningrad and several other cities in the Kaliningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation. There were also issues with mobile internet service.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing Russian media.

Residents of several districts in Kaliningrad, as well as the following cities, reported the outage:

Guryevsk;

Svetlogorsk;

Pionersky;

Yantarny;

Gvardeysk;

Bagrationovsk.

Other settlements in the region were also left without power. In addition, the region has experienced disruptions to mobile internet service.

Local authorities have not yet identified the cause of the blackout.

The Kaliningrad Oblast is a Russian exclave between Poland and Lithuania, cut off from the rest of Russia.

In early 2025, the Baltic states disconnected from the Russian and Belarusian power grids and synchronized with the European grid. Since then, Kaliningrad’s power grid has been operating in isolation.
