They are being trained at a classified location to use high-precision artillery munitions.
From October 7 through November 13, a major exercise to test territorial defense readiness will take place in the Mogilev Region. As part of this exercise, a draft of conscripts is planned, according to the Ministry of Defense, as reported by "Belsat".
The exercise is expected to cover all districts of the Mogilev Region and include the formation of territorial defense units in the Krichev District. In the final stage, a command-and-staff exercise is planned for the territorial defense units of the Krichev District in coordination with other territorial defense forces across various sections of the terrain.
The former “Krichev-6” military airfield is the likely location of the Russian “Oreshnik” complex, capable of launching missiles with nuclear warheads.
Artillerymen are being trained under special conditions
In addition, combat readiness checks of artillery units are continuing at an undisclosed location, the Defense Ministry reported. One of the brigades is conducting tactical exercises with live-fire drills in unfamiliar territory—not at its own training range. The exercises are also unique in that the units are operating at actual combat ranges.
A significant portion of the exercise participants are conscripts. According to the Ministry of Defense, during the exercises, there was an entire crew consisting solely of conscripts that used high-precision munitions to engage targets.
The Ministry of Defense notes that this is the first time exercises of this scale have been conducted with an artillery brigade. However, it does not specify the exact scale of the exercises.
