The founder of Amazon offered an optimistic outlook.

Productivity gains driven by artificial intelligence could, in the future, allow Americans to work three days a week or support a family on a single income. This was stated by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, according to Forbes.

The billionaire disagreed with predictions of mass job losses due to AI and suggested that families where both spouses currently work will be able to do without the second income. In his view, the development of this technology is more likely to lead to a labor shortage than to unemployment. Bezos attributed the reduction of about 30,000 Amazon employees over the past year to a period of aggressive hiring and a sharp increase in headcount following the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, the Amazon founder called AI a “real” technology and acknowledged that an industry bubble is currently forming around it. According to him, even if investors lose money when the bubble bursts, the inventions themselves will not disappear, and investments in technology projects can benefit society.
