Axios: Trump's Team Is Once Again Preparing To Travel To Moscow For Talks With Putin

Today, Friday, Whitcoff and Kushner will meet with Ukrainian and European delegations in Miami

Trump's Special Representative Steve Whitcoff and the U.S. president's son-in-law Jared Kushner may soon visit Moscow again to meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and discuss peace in Ukraine.

This was reported by Axios.

As previously reported, Whitcoff and Kushner are set to meet today, Friday, in Miami with Ukrainian and European delegations to present “new ideas and proposals” aimed at breaking the deadlock in the Russia-Ukraine war.

According to Axios, the Trump administration hopes to achieve a diplomatic breakthrough ahead of the U.S. midterm elections and before a harsh winter sets in in Ukraine.

One of the goals is a partial ceasefire that would halt attacks on energy infrastructure and grain facilities. While Ukraine has stated its willingness to take such a step, Russia has so far shown little interest.

“They’re all nervous about the coming winter. It will be a harsh winter if the war doesn’t end. That’s why the U.S. is trying to mediate between the parties to develop a unified proposal,” said a U.S. source.

On Thursday, Whitcoff and Kushner met with President Donald Trump to present the latest U.S. proposal and seek his input ahead of the talks in Miami, which are expected to last two days.

According to the source, the parties will discuss proposals on security guarantees for Ukraine, a post-war prosperity plan, and other aspects of the war.

A Ukrainian official told the publication that despite skepticism in Kyiv, the U.S. midterm elections and Russia’s need to have sanctions lifted could prompt Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to agree to some kind of ceasefire.

“Whitcoff and Kushner may travel to Moscow later this month for further talks with Putin,” Axios reported, citing a source.
