Airlines are forced to adjust their flight schedules.
Flights bound for Moscow on the night of October 9 were diverted to alternate airports due to restrictions at Vnukovo International Airport, while airliners flying from Turkey turned back. This is reported by Russian media, according to Dialog.UA.
According to Russian media, security restrictions were imposed at Moscow airports on October 9. For example, Vnukovo International Airport suspended the arrival and departure of aircraft at approximately 12:30 a.m. Moscow time.
As a result, 15 planes bound for Vnukovo were diverted to alternate airports. Another three planes flying from Turkey to the Russian capital were turned back. Airlines have been forced to adjust their flight schedules.
A similar situation occurred at Moscow’s airports on October 6 of this year, when the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out airstrikes on military and strategic targets in the Russian capital and the Moscow Region. At that time, four planes flying to Moscow from Turkey were turned back.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces also attacked military and strategic targets in Russia on the night of October 9. According to preliminary reports, the Redkinsky Experimental Plant in the Tver Region—which produces fuel components for cruise missiles—was damaged.
