Video evidence.
The CIS Heads of State Summit in an expanded format has begun in Turkmenistan. Lukashenko is also attending the event. In footage published by Armenian media from Ashgabat, the Belarusian dictator is seen sitting next to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
It should be noted that tensions have long been running high between the Belarusian leader and the Armenian prime minister. Lukashenko has rudely declared on several occasions that “nobody needs Armenia.” Pashinyan responded harshly to the Belarusian dictator.
In an interview with the website Charter97.org, one of the leaders of the democratic movement in Armenia in the 1990s, a former deputy of the republic’s Supreme Council and ex-Armenian ambassador to Russia Stepan Grigoryan stated that Lukashenko’s attacks on Pashinyan are an attempt to curry favor with Moscow.
