What Pashinyan's Expression Looked Like During Lukashenko's Speech

Photo Fact.

Much was said at the CIS summit in Turkmenistan. But what was left unsaid spoke volumes.

This is the expression on the face of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as he listened to Alexander Lukashenko’s speech, when Lukashenko spoke of a “solid foundation” and the “unity of the Commonwealth of Independent States,” “which is based on a shared history, cultural heritage, and human ties.”

It should be noted that tensions have long been simmering between the Belarusian leader and the Armenian prime minister. Lukashenko has rudely declared on several occasions that “nobody needs Armenia.” Pashinyan has responded harshly to the Belarusian dictator.

In an interview with the website Charter97.org, one of the leaders of the democratic movement in Armenia in the 1990s, a former deputy of the republic’s Supreme Council and ex-Armenian ambassador to Russia Stepan Grigoryan stated that Lukashenko’s attacks on Pashinyan are an attempt to curry favor with Moscow.
