Peskov has been enlisted to promote the Russian auto industry.

While Russia continues to launch massive attacks on Ukrainian cities and the civilian population, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may be adding a new Russian-made car to his personal fleet. The car in question is a Volga, which the Kremlin leader personally test-drove in August 2026, according to OBOZ.UA.

This was reported by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov. The statement was published by the Russian publication “Govorit Moskva.”

Peskov noted that Putin had already had the opportunity to test-drive a Volga car during a visit to Nizhny Novgorod.

The Russian dictator liked the car. During the trip, Putin reportedly “spoke positively about the car’s handling.” In particular, he stated that “the car drives well and smoothly,” and also noted the cabin’s sound insulation.

Volga cars are manufactured at the former Volkswagen plant in Nizhny Novgorod. The model officially went on sale on June 19, 2026.

Thus, the Russian dictator may become one of the owners of a car that is marketed as a product of the Russian automotive industry.
