"This Is A Disgrace": Z-bloggers Caught Gerasimov In A Lie

The fake news story about the capture of Dobropillya has fallen apart.

The Russian Armed Forces have once again been caught spreading fake news. Footage showing Russian soldiers “in Dobropillya” turned out to have been filmed in Mirnograd, behind enemy lines. Even pro-Russian media outlets are outraged, according to “Dialog”.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov reported to dictator Vladimir Putin about the capture of the Ukrainian town of Dobropillya as early as October 16. The lie was so blatant that even the pro-Russian military correspondents were taken aback, and some dared to refute this information.

Recently, the 177th Marine Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces decided to “prove” the capture of Dobropillya. It published a video showing several Russian soldiers walking through a destroyed town and aiming their assault rifles into the distance. OSINT experts quickly determined that the footage was from Mirnograd: the Russian army captured this city over a year ago, and it is located more than 20 km from Dobropillya.

Canada-based Z-blogger Alex Parker Returns commented on the scandal. He had some very harsh words for Gerasimov. “It’s okay to make mistakes, but you have to lie! That drunken warlord Gerasim has screwed up again. The footage from the ‘liberated’ Dobropillya turned out to have been shot 20 km away in the city of Mirnograd. What a disgrace!” the propagandist wrote.
