The Ukrainian Armed Forces Defeated Two Russian Regiments Near Tetkino

Z-channels are reporting massive losses among the occupying forces.

Russian soldiers who fought in the Tetkino area on the border between the Kursk and Sumy regions, have reported heavy losses among their units. Survivors are comparing what is happening to a “second Stalingrad.” Their accounts were published by the Z-public group “Severny Kanal,” and British OSINT researcher ChrisO_wiki translated them into English.

According to military sources, several units in the Tetkino area were virtually wiped out, including the 22nd and 9th regiments and a separate assault detachment. The wounded, they claim, waited weeks to be evacuated and died without assistance. The bodies of the dead have remained in destroyed bunkers and craters since the spring of 2025.

“Every intersection is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Ryzhevsky Forest, the railroad: it’s a nightmare there—the area has been littered with bodies since the spring of 2025,” said one of the Russian military personnel.

In August 2026, Russian sources reported that their troops had captured villages on the Ukrainian side opposite Tetkino. The town itself, according to ChrisO_wiki, has been repeatedly subjected to bombing, shelling, and attacks by Ukrainian drones. In late January, the Ukrainian military released a video of an AASM Hammer guided air-to-ground missile strike on Russian positions in Tetkino.

One of the Russian soldiers who fought there said that until September 25, it was “really tough”: Ukrainian forces were advancing through Seim and Ryzhevka, but those who tried to pass through Ryzhevka were eliminated. According to him, they sometimes managed to capture up to 10 houses, but in the end everything was destroyed, and they were unable to hold their ground. After September, he added, large numbers of soldiers from the 22nd Regiment, the reconnaissance company of the 1427th Regiment, and, as far as he could tell, the 2nd GRU Brigade began appearing in the area. Border guards, he said, were always there.

A video filmed by a soldier on the scene shows the extent of the destruction. “Everything used to be intact. The entire street here is also destroyed; three or four houses remain, more or less. They’re still standing, with their walls intact. Everything else was razed to the ground where we were hiding,” he says.

According to another combatant, the Ukrainian military is bombarding Russian positions “with everything from FPV drones to aircraft.” “We were on fire here. Half of my face is burned. This is all that’s left of the street. And it used to be intact. More than 50 FPV drones were sent against us. The guys were counting the mortar rounds. It seems they fired another 40-something shells at us,” he said. Drones, artillery, and aircraft, he claims, are operating in the area around the clock: Tetkino has been reduced to ruins; not a single intact house remains.

ChrisO_wiki believes that Ukraine is likely trying to wear down Russian forces in the area to thwart the Kremlin’s attempts to create a buffer zone along the border on Ukrainian territory.
