The EU is already preparing its 22nd package of restrictions.
The European Commission (EC) has established its first permanent sanctions office within its structure, which will focus its activities against Russia. This was announced by EC spokesperson Shivon McGarry at a briefing in Brussels.
According to her, the new unit will oversee the entire “sanctions ecosystem”—from the development of restrictive measures at the political level to their practical implementation and efforts to prevent circumvention.
McGarrie also confirmed that the European Commission is continuing to prepare the 22nd package of sanctions against Russia, but did not specify a possible timeline for its presentation.
In October, the European Union imposed sanctions on 1,569 companies and individuals linked to Russia’s military-industrial complex. The restrictions also affected a number of other organizations that violate the decisions of international bodies.
