Ukrainian drones and missiles launched massive strikes.
Ukraine has launched new strikes on Russian territory. In Saratov, drones attacked an oil refinery, and in Orel, the “Proton” company, which works for the Russian defense industry, was hit by a missile strike. Meanwhile, a major fire broke out in Rostov at a warehouse covering 8,000 square meters, according to Dialog.UA.
An oil refinery caught fire in Saratov following a drone attack
Footage of the fire has appeared on local social media pages. The video shows a strong glow and several bright spots that appear to be separate fire sources. It is not yet known exactly which units were affected or the extent of the damage to the plant.
The Saratov oil refinery is part of Rosneft and produces various types of fuel. It is noteworthy that the day before, Russian pro-Kremlin media outlets began discussing Ukraine’s new tactics for striking oil refineries. According to their account, Ukrainian drones can attack several facilities within a single refinery at once. There is no independent confirmation of this claim yet.
The "Proton" plant in Orel was hit
According to preliminary reports, a fire broke out following explosions at the Proton-Elektrotex facility. The governor of the Oryol Region Andrey Klychkov confirmed damage to the production facilities of one of the plants in the city’s Sovetsky District, but did not specify its name.
According to OSINT analysts from the Telegram channel “Ukraine365,” the facility in question is the “Proton” plant. The company manufactures electronic components used, among other things, in Russian military equipment. Its products are linked to the “Iskander-M” missile systems and the “Pantsir-S1” systems. Russian Telegram channels speculate that the strike may have been carried out by Ukrainian “Flamingo” missiles. There is no confirmation of this information yet.
An 8,000-square-meter warehouse is on fire in Rostov
Another major fire has broken out in Rostov-on-Don. According to preliminary reports, a warehouse containing oils and polymer materials caught fire at 16A Tupolev Street. The fire is said to have spread over an area of 8,000 square meters. The fire may have spread to neighboring buildings. There is no information indicating that the Rostov warehouse was attacked by Ukraine. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The seventh Russian oil refinery in a week
It is worth noting that the Saratov oil refinery has become the seventh Russian oil refinery reported to have been attacked over the past week, starting on October 30.
Previously, according to monitoring channels, the following facilities were targeted by drones: the Afipsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai; the Ryazan Oil Refinery; the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery; the Kstovo Refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod Region; the Bashneft-Novoyl Refinery in Bashkortostan; and the Novokuybyshevsk Refinery in the Samara Region. Specifically, on November 5, Ukrainian drones attacked the Ryazan Refinery.
Explosions were heard throughout the city, and local residents posted footage of the fires. Even earlier, a major fire broke out at the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery. After the attack, at least six separate fires were reported there.
Russian pro-Russian bloggers complained about the air defense system’s inability to protect a major oil refinery. Ukraine continues to attack Russian oil refineries and facilities linked to military production. The full extent of the damage from the latest strikes in Saratov and Orel will become clear once additional data becomes available.
