Donald Tusk confirmed at a press conference that police are conducting a search of the home of 24-year-old Michał O., who is suspected of the shooting at Kraków’s Market Square. The house is located in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski—the man’s hometown. According to Tusk, the bodies of two women and one man were found in his home: they appear to be members of his family—his father, mother, and sister.
“I hope the police will find any possible accomplices of the attacker,” Tusk said at a briefing.
The publication Echo Dnia reported that police officers from the Świętokrzyskie and Małopolska provinces, as well as counterterrorism units, are operating in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. Searches are being conducted at several addresses, including the home of the suspect’s family in the municipality of Wasniew and at his residence in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski.
A van without identification marks was spotted in front of the police headquarters in the city. A search is underway in the apartment where the 24-year-old man is believed to have lived.
