At the time of the shooting, the paramedics were having lunch at a nearby restaurant.
The police officers wounded during the terrorist attack in Karkov have already been hailed as heroes. Senior patrol officers Jakub Kulik and Artur Moranski risked their lives to prevent the attacker from shooting other people. One of them, despite being wounded, used his last ounce of strength to neutralize the attacker with gunfire, and then, kneeling, kept watch over him until he himself collapsed to the ground. As reported by Fakt reported, Sub-Inspector Katarzyna Cysło of the Lesser Poland Police, both officers sustained very serious injuries. One of them was taken to the hospital in a life-threatening condition. However, from the very beginning, the heroic police officers received the best possible medical care: two renowned Kraków surgeons rushed to their aid from a nearby restaurant.
The doctors were at a nearby restaurant
It seems the two seriously injured police officers, who neutralized the perpetrator of the terrorist attack in Kraków, had a bit of luck. Two well-known and respected Kraków surgeons were having lunch at a restaurant not far from where the officers were shot. A few hours later, information about this began circulating online. Users shared the news with one another and sought confirmation. Fakt obtained confirmation from a reliable source. Journalists determined that these surgeons did more than just treat the injured police officers on the street. One of them, Professor Michał Pendziwiatr, later operated on one of the officers at the hospital.
His professional achievements are impressive. He is a professor of medicine, head of the Second Department of Surgery at Jagiellonian University, and head of the Clinical Division of General, Oncological, Metabolic, and Emergency Surgery at the University Hospital in Kraków. The “Znany Lekarz” portal reports that the doctor received an award from the Kraków Regional Medical Chamber for achieving the highest score on his specialty exam. He also achieved the highest score in the country in oncological surgery. In addition, he passed the European specialty exam in surgery.
The second doctor who rescued the police officers on the street was likely Dr. Mateusz Wierdak. He is also a well-known surgeon in Kraków.
